Daimler Truck employees and the company jointly donate around 345,000 euros for social projects in 2023

Every month, numerous Daimler Truck employees in Germany voluntarily donate the cent amounts of their wages to the Daimler Truck ProCent initiative. The amount collected for the good cause is doubled by the company and used for national and international donation projects. In 2023, 54 projects worldwide were supported with a total of around 345,000 euros in donations. The funding amount per project varies between 930 euros to 31,000 euros. The funds are mainly used for child and youth welfare as well as for animal welfare and nature conservation.

Jürgen Hartwig, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler Truck AG, responsible for Human Resources and Labor Director: "The ProCent initiative shows that even a small contribution can make a big difference. With their donations, our colleagues and the company support a large number of social projects. I am proud of the commitment of our employees and want to express my sincere thanks to them."

Michael Brecht, Chairman of the General Works Council at Daimler Truck AG, agrees: "ProCent is the result of an initiative by the General Works Council, and I am delighted that many of our colleagues are committed to it every year – with donations or in the projects. Social commitment with Daimler Truck ProCent – three examples:

• Stuttgart: Förderkreis Krebskranke Kinder e.V.: Daimler Truck ProCent supports the "Förderkreis Krebskranke Kinder e.V. Stuttgart" (Baden-Württemberg) with the purchase of an industrial washing machine.  
• Gaiberg: Sponsorship of a drone: The association "Rehkitzrettung Rhein-Neckar e.V." supports farmers throughout the Rhine-Neckar district by using modern drones to prevent fawns from being injured or killed by mowing machines.
• Kaliro: Support for the education of young people without schooling in Uganda: ProCent supports the organization "BULUNGI KINDER UGANDA" with the purchase of sewing and knitting machines to train young people with little or no formal schooling in Kaliro, Uganda. 

About Daimler Truck ProCent

The ProCent development fund goes back to an initiative of the General Works Council and is supported and promoted by the company management. A committee with equal representation from the areas mentioned decides on the use of the funds and the projects to be supported. The suggestions for the projects are given by Daimler Truck employees of the German production and sales locations, the headquarter and the Daimler Buses location in Mannheim.
